Product Copy Project

Instructions:

1. Click on the link in the HIT.  It will take you to the website of the product manufacturer
2. Search for the product (using navigation or search bar depending on what's available) on the manufacturer website
3. Once you find the product, copy & paste the manufacturer's product description & key product features into Notepad. 
4. Rewrite the brief description and key product features per the below guidelines.  SEE BELOW EXAMPLE.
5. Copy & paste final brief description & key product feature copy into the HIT template
6. If the manufacturer website doesn't provide sufficient product copy, search for the product on Google. From the organic search results copy & paste the product descriptions and key product features from 3 websites into Notepad, combine & rewrite per the below guidelines.  Then, copy & paste into the HIT template.

Copy guidelines

• Keep the brief descriptions to 50-75 words in length.  State what it is, what it does, who's it for
• Keep  key product features to 3-5 bullets, each with 3-12 words.  Each bullet should focus on one product feature/ benefit
• Be concise and use simple vocabulary (no higher than 6th grade level)
• Rewrite manufacturer or other website copy to be 30-40% unique
• Use "you" and "your"  - e.g. "This product will restore your hair to it's natural luster."

Completed HITS with any of the following will not be accepted:

• Misspellings
• Grammatical errors
• Brief description copy shorter than 50 words
• Fewer than 3 bullet points that don't meet the 3-12 word guideline
